Dear Sue,

I am writing on behalf of my father Bernie to let you know what is going on with him. My dad was on his way to India, as you know when he became very ill. He was waiting in line to get his ticket when an ambulance had to be called and he was rushed to etiboke hospital. He stayed their for nine days where he was in and out of ICU. My dad has pancreatitis which is an inflammation of the pancreas. He is now in London at old victoria hospital on south st. where he will be for a few more weeks. They are certain that the pancreatitis was caused by all the vaccinations and the malaria pill. There is only one other case in the world that this happened, so he is going to be written up in the medical books. He is still not allowed to eat and won't be for a week or so. If you could send this email on to those who know Bernie or want to know how he is doing I would appreciate that.

Thank-you,

Bernie Conway

I received an update on Bernie Conway from Gordon Rogers. The message from Gordon follows;

HAPPY HOLIDAY GREETING FROM VANCOUVER, CANADA,

AGAIN, I HAVE BEEN USABLE TO MAKE CONTACT WITH BERNIE, SEVERAL EMAIL
MESSAGES AND TELEPHONE CALL TO THE HOME.
LATE THIS AFTERNOON, I WAS ABLE TO GET AN ANSWER AT THE HOME TELEPHONE AND
SPOKE TO ONE OF BERNIE'S DAUGHTERS.

BERNIE HAS BEEN BACK IN THE HOSPITAL AND JUST HAD SURGERY, I DID NOT INQUIRE
FOR WHAT, AND HE IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THE HOSPITAL FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS!

THE DAUGHTER REQUESTED THAT FOR THE MOMENT, I GIVE THEM A CALL BACK IN A
WEEK OR 10 DAYS FOR AN UPDATE, BUT THAT HE SEEMS TO BE DOING WELL AND THEY
DO NOT EXPECT ANY COMPLICATIONS.

HIS MAILING ADDRESS IS;

67 Southwood Crescent
London, Ontario, Canada
N6J 1S8

I AM SURE HE WOULD ENJOY HEARING FROM ALL HIS FRIENDS IN THE MEASURING AND
RUNNING COMMUNITIES.

BEST OF THE SEASON TO ALL,

REGARDS,

GORDON ROGERS

Message received today from Bernie:

Pete, Dave, & Carla,

I returned to the hospital on Dec. 6th because I was getting weaker and weaker. On Dec. 16th I was transferred from Old Vic Hospital to St. Joe's Hospital and had an emergency operation the same evening. The doctor found that 40% of my pancreas had not only died but separated and become gangrenous. This was the major source of infection that was making me weaker. The doctor removed the dead part and cleaned up the rest of the pancreas. I was discharged on Dec. 29th and am recouperating at home. I still have two hemovacs attached externally that are draining my pancreas. When the volume of drainage drops below 25 mL these will be removed. I check and record the volumes of each every 24 hours. I will contact the doctor on Tues. and set up appointments for bloodwork as well as when to come in to have the hemovacs disconnected, etc.

I am feeling well but my hemoglobin is low so my energy levels are easily depleted. I am on iron supplements for 3 months so hopefully my hemoglobin level will be back to normal by then.

Thank you all for your concern.

Bernie
