Last week I measured a course that started on a HS track. The course went through a gate in the fence surrounding the track, and the organizers were worried the gate might be closed on weekends, so I measured back from a point on the course after the gate to a point in the parking lot that made the same distance. So, the course has a primary (track) and backup (parking lot) start - the non-common distance is about 140m.

My question is, when making the map, should I a.) indicate both starts and issue one certification number
b.) show both starts, and give each "course" its own number.
c.) treat each course as unique, issuing a separate cert and number for each, with separate map.

I know from a practical standpoint I am going to provide the RD with a map showing BOTH starts - no sense in him having to worry about finding 2 maps to prepare for the race.
