While I am at the USATF Annual Meeting I aim to try to persuade someone who runs their site to put a counter on our map download pages.

Right now we are doing a whale of a lot of work to make maps and lists appear. Who uses them? At present we have no clue, aside from postings from those RRTC people who have expressed opinions on the subject.

If we can get an idea of usage it may help us decide just how much benefit results from the work done.

Katie at the USATF National office was kind enough to generate a few statistics on our map download page usage.

Click on the first image to view the statistics on the number of visits to the course search page.

Click on the second image to view statistics on the number of maps downloaded from the search page.

It looks like the maps were downloaded 146,509 times between September 1, 2008 and December 15, 2009. Visitors downloaded 4,422 different maps.

Thank you. -- Justin

Justin,

Thanks for the stats!

From what I see, I interpret it to mean we have 3,676 unique visitors each month, searcing for course maps. And, it appears that they looked at 8,624 maps each month, meaning they looked-up more than one coure map each visit.

These stats tell me that the effort we expend to post the maps is worth it. Many people visit the site each month, and look at lots of maps. That means there is awareness out there about certified courses, which is a great thing!

Keep up the work, Pete, as others appreciate your efforts.
