Two Course Measurement Sessions Scheduled at USATF Associations Workshop
On August 25-27 the Pittsburgh Airport Hyatt will host the USATF Associations Workshop. Two Course Measurement Sessions are scheduled: The first is on Saturday at 11: 30-12noon Course Measurement 101, a brief overview session, coving resources, contacts, etc. The second longer session on Sunday from 8-12noon, showing Tom McBrayer’s Measurement Video, followed by a 30-45 minute PowerPoint presentation, pass around a few JO Counters, and off to do a little hands on measuring.
The Workshop sessions will be headed by Kevin P. Lucas, of New York, and Pete Riegel, Ohio State Certifier, both have extensive experience conducting such gatherings. Pete Riegel has taught 26 seminars nationally and internationally. Unfortunately Pennsylvania Regional Certifier, Bill Bellville, was unable to attend due to his very busy summer schedule. Bill is busy measuring and involved with the new 5 city Lance Armstrong’s LiveStrong Challenge, hosted by BKB of Denver.
Running club representatives from the host Three Rivers Association will be invited along with clubs from bordering associations. All comers from all 57 associations attending the Workshop are welcomed. We also welcome any outside interested parties wanting to learn more about course measurement.
