Ted Corbitt, the father of modern course certification in this country, would have been 94 today. I was honored to have met this true gentleman (who was also one of this country's great marathon and ultra runners) and to have helped sort through and pack his apartment after his death. There are at least 15 legal size boxes filled with certification paperwork in the New York Road Runners warehouse in the Red Hook section of Brooklyn. It's time to start going through them and culling out the significant elements.

Well-said, Guido.

I would charge by the hour for the measuring, and a flat fee for the map and the certificate. I would charge $95.00 an hour. Roughly equal to the price of lunch in Manhattan.
We did not have a police escort, just 2 NYRR events staffers following us in cars w/ flashing lights.
We lived to tell about it. The key to riding in NYC is to be just as aggressive as the drivers who are trying to turn you into road kill. As a native New Yorker, Dave is much better at it than I am, but years of riding with him have made me pretty good, too.
