Every week Ken Young sends out a update on recent races, records, etc. He also includes races of interest from past years. Here is what happened at Boston 50 years ago in 1964.

Aurele Vandendriessche (BEL) won the 67th running of the Boston (MA/USA) Marathon in 2:19:59, followed by Tenho Salakka (FIN) in 2:20:48 and Ron Wallingford (CAN) in 2:20:51. Author Hal Higdon (USA) was 5th at 2:21:55, John J Kelley (USA) was 7th at 2:27:23, Ted Corbitt (USA) was 26th at 2:38:01, Tom Osler (USA) was 43rd at 2:47:26, and Johnny A Kelley was 48th at 2:49:14.
