I'm working on a course that will be run out on NAS Pensacola. Unfortunately, there's a lot of damage out there still and not a lot of really "good" reference points. I've taken to using manhole covers, existing light poles, storm drains, etc., as well as taking a photo with my camera phone in order to have a record of what mark is where.
Any suggestions on which reference points are very good...and which ones should be avoided like the plague (outside of the obvious)? Thanks!
