Passing of Norm Brand

I think some of the old-timers will remember Norm Brand, who served as a track official for many decades, always at USATF meetings until the last several years, and submitted entries to the RRTC measuring competitions under the name "Eye in the Sky". (He literally gazed from a hotel room or similar vantage point and did the measuring from there-- wasn't that far off in many cases either, if I remember right).

He passed on July 11 and those who knew him will miss him. A link to more information:

Norm was the reason Duane added sections of the contest course that were not visible from above.

Norm may have been the human precursor of GoogleEarth.
