This little anecdote is mainly for Pete Riegel but others may enjoy it. Years ago when we first started measuring, Pete was somehow connected with the course list, maybe Joan was the registrar. Anyway, when we submitted our first course as the Guido Brothers Escort Service, Pete was trying to figure how to fit the name onto the list. During the conversations we indicated that since we weren't making money, we might as well have a fun name. Fast forward 20+ years. Today I received an envelope containing a check for a measurement we had completed. The race director and return address is "Athletes for Christ". The envelope, therefore is addressed to the Guido Brothers Escort Service from the Athletes for Christ. Seems strange they would be needing an escort service.
