Odd uses for certified courses

Decades ago I certified a course for Ashrita Furman, whose hobby was breaking Guinness world records. I can't find "Furman" as a measurer in the course list, so perhaps someone else did it on his behalf. It may have been connected with pogo-stick jumping, somersaulting, or something equally odd. Anyway, he set a record on the certified course.

He's still at it.

I applaud his stamina.

Someone wanted me and Lyman Jordan to certify a distance so they could set a record for riding a bicycle on the rear wheel only. But the person wasn't interested in the kind of distances we could measure on a bike-- apparently they would need a "real" surveyor to measure a short distance on the track . . .

But this fellow takes the cake!
