Of 60 US orders for the new JR counter, 39 have been from people whose names do not appear on the course list. New measurers are vital to secure our measurement future. This is encouraging.
I've noticed there is a guy from around here that I know has measured at least one course that appears in the course list. But he is not listed when I do a search for measurers from Michigan. Is anybody who has ever done a single course get listed? Is there a minimum number? Just curious.
The person's name may not appear on the online listing because the list of measurers has not yet been updated. This is done at the end of each year. I'm not sure of when the last update was done. Keith Lively has not yet updated the USATF search engine to include the new material. Keith just informed me that he has received all the maps, and is waiting for an updated course listing. This has been delayed by a crash at Stu's computer. More when more info is available.
Measurers are added with each new batch of courses, and Keith tells me that the list updates each month.
So, if you've gotten a course certified, and it's up on the USATF site, your name should be in there. If it's not, drop me a line and I'll try to sort it out.
