Centimeter Accuracy with new GPS algorithm

Apparently, researchers have discovered a new computationally efficient algorithm (by orders of magnitude) for computing GPS position with an accuracy of a few centimeters. No telling how long before this technology will appear in consumer level GPS devices.

My Garmin Approach that I use for determining distance to the pin is already dead on with the fairway markers. Unfortunately, my clubs are not as accurate.

Centimeter accuracy is great for locating points. i.e.Identifying Start, Finish, and T/A points. I did not see anything in the article about read frequency. Until the device can take at least dozens of reads per second, I doubt its usefulness for distance measurement, at least while mounted on a bike.
