Here is an example of the fine job our VC, "Paul Hronjak" has done. Below is his report.

Subject: 2008 Statistics

We had 18 active measurers in 2008, the most ever! In fact, when I took over as State Certifier in 1994, there were only five active measurers that year. We didn't hit 10 until 2000.

The top measurers in 2008 by number of courses measured were:

Neville Wood 22
Tim Rhodes 18
Paul Hronjak 13
Benji Jones 10
David Lee 8
Dick Forbis 6
Tim Long 5
Frank Guy 4
Ed McGinnis 3
Herb Dykes 3
Mike Walsh 3
Scot Worley 3
Danny White 2
Dennis Joffe 2
William Walker 2
Scott Bassett 2
John Anderson 2
Jim Davis 1

In 2008, 109 courses were certified in NC. Since Neville is a Final Signatory (as National Validations Chair), I did not review his work nor keep statistics on a breakdown of the various distances of courses he measured. Of the 87 courses which I certified, the following is a breakdown of distances:

5K 57
10K 9
Other 7
Half marathon 5
15K 3
Marathon 2
10 mile 2
Calibration 2

Of the currently active measurers in NC, Paul Hronjak has measured the most courses, 276 in his almost 30 years of measuring - my first four, starting in 1980, resulted in a brief notes from Ted Corbitt saying the course was certified. Actual certificates were not issued until Pete Riegel took over in 1983. Second on the list is Tim Rhodes with 171 courses to date (since 1996). Of course, the REAL leader is the late AC Linnerud who measured over 700 courses in his long career. I show Danny White with 77 but I'm sure his total is much higher than that since he has measured a lot of courses in SC as well. Let us know your real total, Danny. Also, Neville, for some reason I don't have your number for 2007. Please let us know. Without 2007, Neville has measured 83 courses since he started in 2001.

Before 1994, four currently active measurers were measuring:

Paul Hronjak 15
Ed McGinnis 6
Danny White 5
William Walker 1
