For several years, I have been using a web page monitor service to check that new courses for my area were posted online and the information on the courses were entered correctly. I added a web page monitor at
WatchThatPage to monitor the measurement database listings for the New England states on the USATF web site.
http://www.watchthatpage.com/ There are a lot of web page monitoring services available. Here's a description of the WatchThatPage service.
quote:
WatchThatPage is a service that enables you to automatically collect new information from your favorite pages on the Internet. You select which pages to monitor, and WatchThatPage will find which pages have changed, and collect all the new content for you. The new information is presented to you in an email and/or a personal web page. You can specify when the changes will be collected, so they are fresh when you want to read them. The service is free!
For example, to view the changes for the courses in Massachusetts, I set up WatchThatPage to monitor the changes for this URL:
Once a day, WatchThatPage will visit that page and look for any changes from its previous visit. If changes were found, they are emailed to me.
Here's an example of a recent email:
With the email, I can quickly see any new courses that have been listed as well as any edits to the course information.
Hope this helps. -- Justin
