Measuring Fees

I have been asked many times about what one should charge for measuring a course. There are several factors which can change the rate per mile such as travel to race.

Let's say that we only consider the fee to measure the course and not take into account any other factors. All people who measure are independent contractors and have the right to charge what the market will bear. However, I charge $60 per mile plus $100 for the paper work. Hence. the cost for the measuring a 5k would be $250. I feel we at RRTC can not ask for a standard fee for all to follow.
