Carol Kane purchased a J/O counter several years ago (I believe for the '04 women's marathon OT course validation ride). Within the last year, the glue holding the Veeder/Root counter to the gear simply gave out, and the counter came loose. She did a fix with hot glue, and it seems to have held well (photo below)
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? I'd also be interested in Paul's comments, as I believe the biggest issue in making the counters was finding a special glue that would hold the counter to the Delrin gear drive shaft. Could it be that we had the answer sitting in our hot glue guns all the time?
