More and more people are watching. We had almost 30,000 page views last month. I have no idea whether this is a large amount for a bulletin board having 180 members.
Sounds good. But you may need to allow for robots searching the website. You can easily get half or more of the page views from search engine robots. As a check as to whether the board is indexed by Google I picked out the phrase "Strange calibration data" from the title of a May 10 posting and put it into Google with the quotes. This listed two sites and this board was one of them. So you are visited by at least the googlebot. If you can access the server logs you can work out how many genuine individual viewers you have each month, but it may not be easy to do this.
BOTS: Search bots can be good if you are not paying for traffic or web page vews. If you have to pay per page served then getting mauled by bots is bad. If you pay a flat rate per month, no matter what the traffic, then it's is good to have the search bots rooting through your pages because it helps people find you. But if you pay based on traffic or pages served then having bots rifle through your pages every other day just adds to your com costs.
