I've been asked to measure a 5km course that will be held in conjuntion with an on going Half-Marathon. (I still have my race t-shirt from the 1st Annual Run Jenks Half-Marathon - 1979)

In reviewing the Half-Marathon certification, I was a bit unsure of it's expiration date.

The course is the the Jenks Half-Marathon (Jenks,Ok) with certification #OK87066BB with a Status of A98. (ie Year renewed = 1998 ??)

In reading the following, it would seem that the course certification expired 12/31/2007.
Would that be correct?

******************************************
Year Renewed - Year in which the course was renewed. Renewal is available only for courses certified prior to 2001. Renewals expire on December 31 of the year determined by adding 20 to the original year of certification, or on Dec 31, 2011, whichever is earlier.

The way I understand it, that is correct.

This is my understanding of current RRTC policy:

Any course certified in 1987 or earlier has to be re-measured, as no certification can be more than 20 years old.

Certifications on courses first certified between 1988 and 1991 can be extended through the end of the year 20 years after they were first certified.

Any course certified between 1992 and 2001 can have its certification extended through the end of 2011.

Certifications on courses certified in 2002 or later cannot be extended.
