Well, it's more like 5 seconds, but in the Fred Lebow biopic, "Run For Your Life," Dave is shown talking with the former NYRR president at the start of the NYC Marathon in Staten Island, then running off toward the start line. He was probably either dispatched to make sure the start was properly located, or to get the phone number of some pretty girl Fred wanted to meet. Wink

Fred's right-hand man and ultimate successor, and RRTC member, Alan Steinfeld, is also featured prominently, with a bit more camera time than Dave.

If you get a chance to see this film, do so. It chronicles the huge impact Fred had not just on the NYC Marathon, but the sport of running in general. Some of the scenes of the early races are priceless. When Bill Rodgers wins the first 5-borough edition of the NYCM, there are no chutes or barricades to hold back the spectators other than some twine.
