I'm curious, do most measurers also paint course directional markings when you measure a course or do you leave that to the race organizer? If you do include directional markings, do you charge extra for that or is that included in your measurement service fee?

We do not paint directional arrows (or other directional marks) on the roads of the courses we measure. Our product to the RD is a map of an accurately measured course and a USATF certificate of accuracy. The map provides turn by turn written directions and runners route arrows. With that, our job is done! We have been hired to mark courses on race day, but that's no part of measuring for USATF certification.
Start, finish, and splits. At the most.
Thanks guys.
I paint all certified points plus any splits the RD has requested, no directional arrows. (That’s what I would consider the “norm”). Directional arrows are the responsibility of whoever is doing course setup for the event. That said I know there are measures who do more
