As the Course Registrar, I discovered there are times when someone asks about a map not showing on the USATF web site. As an example, a measurer noted a map from 2008 was missing. I found the problem and all is well. There are several reasons for this, but that’s not the issue.

I'm asking the Certifier’s, Vice Chairs and Measurer’s to check the USATF site for their Certifications and if they see a problem contact me.
Please understand that it may take up to a month to get your map on the USATF site as there is a very important check and balance system followed. Please be patient.

I just downloaded the complete list. All active courses have attached maps except the following:

AK 09002 DLP
AL 09010 JD
BER 00041 RT
CT 90006 DR
DC 09003 JS
FL 08070 EBM
FL 09054 EBM
FL 09055 EBM
FL 09056 EBM
FL 09057 EBM
IL 09032 JW
IN 09022 MW
NC 08118 NW
NH 98001 ANM (ANM is probably supposed to be AM)
NJ 08538 JHP
NJ 09017 LMB
NV 08013 DCR
SC 90001 BS
TN 09041 NS
When a complete course list is downloaded a column called “map” is included in the file. If the listed course has an online map a “yes” appears in this column. If there is no map a “no” appears. This makes sorting quite easy.

My search for missing maps used this column. The courses Ken cites evidently have maps, (the search engine shows that a map is there) but with something wrong with the map files, as when one clicks on the “map” link in the search engine a little red square appears, not a map. The search engine indicates that a map is present, but it’s not a functioning one.

I am stuck here as I don’t know how to find the map files that are in the system but don’t work properly. It can be mighty slow doing it one course at a time.

I looked up the listing of 2009 Ohio courses. All had blue map links, and all the links worked. However, the link for OH09016PR brought up the certificate, not the map.

Perhaps there should be a notice to search engine users that when they have a lookup problem they should click on a link that directs them to Mr Fixit, whoever that might be.
Pete and Ken,

OH09016PR has the wrong image scanned. It will be corrected. I will resubmit this one and Ken's as overwrites and that should correct the problem.

I will talk to the USATF person and ask what is happening with those courses Ken has found to be in error. I see no problems with the maps that were originally submitted and I hope USATF can explain. I will keep all informed.
