I have been getting requests for certified splits off and on for several years.
There are a few good reasons for certifying splits. It allows for record performance timing.
Certified splits allow for course adjustments or changes without having to remeasure an entire course.
When the split is documented Exactly, it is easier to locate the location for future races.
Certified splits adds a level confidence in the course for runners.
Certified splits highlight a few problems with the measurement and certification but they do add quality to a race.
I don't propose certified splits but see no problem with their inclusion.
