I hope this is the appropriate category for this post. It directly concerns certification, so here it is.
I know some of you are closely aligned with running clubs, or have your own timing companies. I am hoping you can get a paragraph put into your (or your club's) newsletter. I am doing a survey of runners, getting their input on the topic of the importance of a course being certified. I would love for you to put the following paragraph in the newsletter:
"Runners - we would like to get your opinions regarding the importance of certified race courses to you, the runner. If you would take a couple of minutes and go to http://RaceMeasure.com/Survey and complete the brief (6 questions) survey, we would appreciate it. Whether you know what USATF Certification is, or not, your response will be valuable. Thank you for your time."
So far, with limited results, 48% of runners said they won't run a race that doesn't use a certified course. While this surprises me, I need a larger sample before we can draw any conclusions. (110 responses, so far.)
If you could help direct runners to the survey, your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
