I have a new job measuring 2 courses in an area not nearby. I go on line to find a cal course near the courses I am measuring. I find one not too far away. When I look it up, there is no address. A town is mentioned on the map, and a street, but no cross street. No street number for either end of the course. This particular road goes on for many miles.

I have mentioned this before. I don't remember getting a response. So, I am now making a request: can we please require all certification maps to include a street address for at least one end point?

I have no doubt I'll eventually find this course. With an address, I could just navigate to the spot efficiently. Now, I face something of a safari. I have encountered this before, once spending a half hour just to find the locations and then to determine that the end point nails were long gone.

With an address on the cal course map, problem solved.

Thoughts?

How about street address OR cross street OR GPS coordinate?

I sometimes provide GPS coordinates for mile marks, but never for start, finish, or turn-around locations, because I know there are some RDs who will just use that and ignore the descriptions.

But I have much less concern that a measurer would use only GPS coordinates to locate the endpoints of a cal course.
