Big city naming conventions

Jim, Another point is when a race starts in one city and ends in another. Which City is entered? I always enter the starting city, maybe other registrar's have done this differently.

Another thing that happens is when there are two measurers, again I enter the first one listed. So if you search for measurer B, you will not see this person as the measurer of record.

I have had a measurer contact me and ask why he was not given credit for measuring courses after 2006. Researching this I discovered the past State Certifier recorded his name different than the new State Certifier. This was corrected on our Data Base.

There are some things we may have to do when searching by using our hidden talents.

I used to notice this too. NYC and LA were the only cities I saw that had the problem.

The Boston Marathon course (MA05018RN) might not be so easily found if the city was listed as Hopkinton. The city is listed as Boston.

I think the finish is the appropriate location for the data entry. That's where all the fuss is made, and where most of the time is spent by those involved.
