The commentators were interviewing Frank McCourt, who bought the LA Marathon last year, during the race broadcast on Universal Sports earlier this summer. Listening to him, it was clear McCourt wanted to change the course--getting it out of dull neighborhoods and into the areas that have made LA famous.
