Triathlon Certified Marathon

Let's say a Triathlon has it's Marathon Certified and uses an accurate timing system. Would their times be considered for records?

I feel it would be difficult to set any record under the conditions competing in a Triathlon, but my guess is a record should count.

Would this be a qualifier for Boston?

I understand that these questions could be directed to our Records Chair or to Boston, but I wonder how others feel?
