USATF finally implemented the additional requirement for any road race record to be recognized the event would also have to be Sanctioned by USATF. The first requirement is the record MUST be run on a USATF Certified course, which has been in place for years. The Sanctioning requirement is new to many events and will continue to be an obstacle for recognition of many legitimate records.

Oklahoma is known for good state record keeping, as well as the number of certified courses.

I wonder how often the Sanctioning problem will come up with new road race records?
