Steel tapes, that are traceable to a national standard, are somewhat rare. I purchased the Starrett Certified Tape Rule, 30 meters Blade Length, 3/8" Blade Width, with Certificate, (product 1936A4) in 2015, for $70.62 from McMaster-Carr.

Unless required, I would avoid using a certified steel tape for casual measuring. Hope this helps. -- Justin
