For the Jack and Jill course in Washington State I did measure from finish to start first as they had a specific finish line in mind. As this is an abandoned railroad the grade is not too much but boy was it quicker measuring downhill. As for the course Mark has the link to, I have relatives in Tuscon and that road is a classic bicycle climb.
