loaning out Jones Counter

For a number of years I have loaned one of my extra counters out so the RD could measure a course themselves. I ask a deposit of basically the cost of a new counter. Now that it seems they are no longer being sold at this time I'm wondering if you also loan out counters. In the past if a counter did not come back (happened only once) I simply purchased another one. Now I'm starting to be reluctant to let them out the door and a RD was upset that I would not loan him three of them.
