Bike Nashbar is having a one day electronic sale today, August 7. Among the items listed is the Protegé 5.0 for $14.95, 40% off the regular price. If you're thinking of testing the electronic measuring waters, or want one for a second bike, this is a good deal.

Jim:
The wireless Protege ($30) you ask about is unique for such a type in that it works perfectly at low speeds. Unfortunately, above the display speed of 99.9 km/hr (25 km/hr actual) you get an error message and it stops working. Also like all wireless models it is probably subject to interference from other devices: I believe I got some while stopped at a traffic-light control box.

You should probably get a commercial counter, on which I will make a full report soon. One of the exciting developments (no one seems to have read my post on this) is that some of these can operate in reverse mode better than the Jones. Nev
