Wayne’s shirt (see Jim Gerweck’s post “Ragged Mtn”) brings back memories of the group measurement of the 1996 Olympic Marathon course in Atlanta. We had a big bunch of measurers from all over the world. It was a grand experience getting together with so many like-minded people who share our geekery.

Here we are in our ceremonial robes. People said it looked like a long yellow caterpillar as we wound our way around the course.

I wish the picture was clearer, but this was in the pre-digital age, and is a scan of a photo.

Here's hoping we get another opportunity to do this- in eight years, on the shores of Lake Michigan!
