I understand that at the recent USATF meeting, it was decided to put recording keeping in Indianapolis and not use the Road Running Information Center run by the Honikmans and Ryan Lamppa.

Does this mean that Running USA and the RRIC are out of the record picture? Does anyone know how this will work?

It looks to me like USATFs' involvement with road race performances is currently up in the air, which is one of the reasons I introduced the topic (also under "Records") regarding my wish to see an Internet-based version of the old National Running Data Center.

Message from Ryan Lamppa

Gene, Jim, Paul, David and Pete:

2006 greetings. As you may know or have heard, effective January 2006,
the Road Running Information Center will no longer compile and process
LDR records for USATF. Fortunately, we - thanks to the Atlanta Track
Club - have found an excellent replacement to carry on the good work,
Andy Carr. His contact information is below.

Andy was here last week for training and he is ready to take over. As
the transition proceeds, this office will work with Andy and the new
Validations Chair Neville Wood as LDR record questions and situations
arise. As soon as possible, then, I will later resign as USATF Records
Vice Chair.

Thank you for all your good work.
